Spanish artist Javier León Pérez will present his first solo exhibition in Berlin on April 30, 2026, with The Voice That Responds at Anna Probst Gallery, one of the emerging spaces within Berlin’s contemporary art scene.
The exhibition, on view through July 5, 2026, proposes a dialogue between two essential strands of the artist’s practice: the body of painting he has developed intensively in recent years and his acclaimed three-dimensional works on Japanese paper, which have been present in his artistic production for more than two decades.
The exhibition’s title refers to an open inner conversation built upon echoes, calls, and responses. The works function as spaces of resonance in which matter, color, and form invite the viewer into a contemplative experience. In his paintings, Javier León Pérez works with organic surfaces, visual folds, and a palette dominated by reds, oranges, and pinks, evoking the body, consciousness, and sensory experience.

Far from presenting a closed narrative, The Voice That Responds proposes a direct encounter with the artwork, where the viewer participates through intuition and perception.
“I am interested in creating works that do not end in an explanation, but instead activate something internal within the viewer,” states the artist.
With this exhibition, Javier León Pérez further consolidates his international projection, presenting in Berlin a personal body of work that brings together contemporary spirituality, materiality, and abstract language.
